Here is an outline of what it takes to earn an Award. To find out more, visit the Award's main website at http:www.dofe.org. If you are a young person between 14 and 25 who would like more details of how to take part, please contact the DofE organiser at your school or get in touch with one of the other groups listed under 'Groups' on the various LDC pages. If you are a potential adult volunteer, who would like to help the Award, please contact one of the Field Officers listed on the Contacts page of this website.

To be of use to your community by helping with conservation work; teaching/coaching, fundraising, or simply helping a charity. There is a wide choice of possibilities. |

You have lots of choice - rugby, soccer, tennis, dance, aerobics, swimming, ski, wrestle and even parachuting. If you wish you can gain coaching and other awards from the sporting governing bodies. |

It might be photography, drama, dog training, vehicle mechanics, electronics or any of a number of ideas from over 200 programmes. |

Plan, train for, and then safely undertake a journey in the countryside (as a member of a team, camping and cooking at night) on foot, by canoe, under sail, on a bike or on horseback. |

You will stay away from home - even abroad if you wish - in a residential setting either through voluntary service or some form of training. Residential settings may be in centres, youth hostels, sailing ships or camps. |
