| Do not sign
off a section unless there is at least one piece of significant
evidence, such as an image of the relevant page in the Keeping
Track booklet. If you do, then HQ will raise a query requiring
the Participant to submit something. |
| The
default finishing date for a section is the date on which you do
the signing off. If the Participant is progressing to the next
level, they may well want you to record the date they
actually finished the section so that they can start work on
that section at the next level. You are given a warning about
this with some very detailed instructions on how to set a
finishing date of your choice. Make sure you are not on
autopilot, pressing buttons with unthinking abandon - if you go
too fast and enter the default date, you may not be able
to reverse things. |
| Assuming
things don't change over the next few years, Participants
finishing Bronze now may find themselves filling in a GA6 form
in a few years time as they complete their Gold. On that they
will have to declare their Bronze and Silver section dates. As
there is no obvious way for either Participants or Co-ordinator
to retrieve these from e-DofE, it would be prudent to record
them safely at the time of signing off each section. |
| Warn the
Participant that unless they have uploaded at least 10
photographs for each section (14 for the Expedition), they will
have either to leave blanks in their Achievement Pack or make
use of library photos (which are fairly dire). Also advise them
to upload at least 3 photos of themselves for use on the
title page and at least 7 general photos for the cover of the Achievement Pack. Bear in mind that all
uploaded Evidence except JPEG files (or other image files) is
inaccessible for Achievement Pack purposes - PDF, DOC, PUB, TXT,
simply vanish into cyberspace. |
